САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
This paper reviews digital tools for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) within intelligent energy systems, examining their role in supporting sustainable development across energy applications. Commonly used LCA tools, such as GaBi, SimaPro, and OpenLCA, are analyzed in terms of their functionality, database support, and applicability within various energy contexts. Each tool’s strengths and limitations are analyzed, with GaBi and SimaPro offering datasets and scenario analysis, while OpenLCA presents a cost-effective, open-source option with visualization capabilities. Specialized tools like GREET are highlighted for their proficiency in fuel cycle analysis, important for assessing biofuels and hydrogen, while EIO-LCA provides insights into the indirect impacts across supply chains. The review finds that LCA tools are used in improving decision-making by providing actionable insights into the lifecycle impacts of energy technologies.
