ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:
This study examined eggshell color variation across five generations (F1–F5) of Marans × Ameraucana crosses to investigate inheritance patterns of blue-green eggshells. Progressive lightening of shell color was observed, with the lightest eggs in F5. Variation was associated with differential deposition of protoporphyrin IX and biliverdin. Results indicate a complex genetic background involving pigment-related genes and confirm Mendelian inheritance with green dominant over brown. Findings support applications in poultry breeding.
