ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:

This study evaluated effects of N fertilizer type and application rate on bunch structural indicators of Cabernet Sauvignon clones (15 and 412) grown in a inter row grass-covered vineyard with (60% Festuca rubra, 30% Lolium perenne and 10% Trifolium repens). Experiment included two nitrogen fertilizers (AN and KAN) and rates of 0, 50, and 100 kg N ha⁻¹. The yield of fresh and dry biomass and visual assessment of grass quality were monitored. For soil fertility analysis samples were collected from 0-30, 30-60 and 80-100 cm. The bunch structural indicators, sugar and total acids content in must were determined. N treatments affected structural parameters: bunch weight (130.2–196.6 g), epicarp weight per 100 berries (5.6–7.1 g) and seed number per 100 berries (160–235). Sugar content in must ranged from 20.4% to 24.1%. The results indicate that nitrogen application rate under grass-covered vineyard play an important role for bunch structure and technological quality of Cabernet Sauvignon clones.
