ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:

The dairy sector plays a significant role in food systems and rural economies, but it faces numerous challenges that must be addressed to achieve sustainability. In addition to technological innovation, the systematic development of human capital, particularly through education, is a key driver of sustainable development. Therefore, education in this field should be modern and competence-based, incorporating digital transformation and work-based learning. It is also important to connect various stakeholders and to increase the sector’s attractiveness and promotion.

This paper mainly focuses on the results of the project “European Excellence in Dairy Learning”, which includes the modernisation of dairy education, the development of online courses, the creation of a virtual dairy plant, the establishment of a dairy learning hub, and related promotional activities. These tools could help enhance education in dairy science and technology, thereby supporting the sector’s sustainability.
