САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

Walking is the most elementary and simple form of movement and is the first symbol of communication characteristic of an individual. Walking, as a natural form of movement, is an essential part of the process by which the child develops his movement and functional abilities. To walk, the child needs coordination of the movements of arms and legs, balance and rhythm, good strength of all muscle groups, orientation in space, a good sense of body control and additional functional skills. For the development of a child’s walking, it is very important to provide him with a stimulating environment and give him the opportunity to take his first steps independently. By analysing the results of studies,  the gradual development of walking in terms of the direction of movement in space was confirmed. Cross-walking up and down stairs occurs in the second age group, while most children in the first age group crosswalk only on the surface of the apartment. Given the age of the children, the transition to independent walking was characterized by prolonged interaction with the mother and more complex interactions, including directing the mother’s attention to specific objects. The results suggest a developmental pathway that links social interactions with milestones in motor development. By encouraging physical activities, we enable the child to have a well-developed physique, which is very important for the development of walking.
