ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:

Historic buildings, ensembles, and sites are very often regarded as highly suitable for redevelopment. Both globally and in Serbia, this process is most commonly perceived as a favorable investment practice, widely supported within the framework of sustainable development policies. Decisions concerning the redevelopment of historic buildings or areas with architectural heritage, however, entail both positive and negative consequences, depending on the manner in which the built heritage is treated throughout the process. This paper methodologically examines the treatment of built heritage within the process of urban redevelopment undertakings.
