ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:
The roof structure within the gymnasium of Elementary School ‘Slobodan Bajić Paja’ in Pećinci consists of timber trusses, purlins, and ceiling joists. Since the reconstruction includes the replacement of the ceiling and HVAC installations, a detailed visual-macroscopic inspection and a control structural analysis were carried out in order to determine the actual condition and load-bearing capacity of the timber roof elements. The roof structure is in good condition considering its age, and the observed damages and defects do not compromise the safety of the structure. The control structural analysis showed that the existing roof structure can support both the existing and newly designed loads in terms of strength and serviceability. However, it was determined that the existing connections are not adequate for the newly designed loads..
