ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:
The transition towards a circular economy in the built environment requires effective benchmarking frameworks to evaluate and compare circularity performance of buildings. However, existing benchmarking systems for assessing circularity performance in buildings remain underdeveloped. This paper presents a brief literature review on benchmarking circularity of buildings across European countries at two different levels: (1) building materials and products, and (2) buildings and the built environment. The review identifies key gaps and challenges and highlights the need for harmonized and comprehensive benchmarking approaches, based on robust and interoperable datasets, to support informed decision-making in circular construction.
