САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
The development of an entirely machine parameter independent vector control algorithm for sensorless operation of the emerging brushless doubly fed reluctance generator (BDFRG) for wind power applications is put forward in this paper. A model reference adaptive system (MRAS) with on-line parameter identification has been implemented for the accurate rotor position and speed estimation enabling smooth, decoupled real and reactive power control of the grid-connected winding. The proposed control scheme is versatile and applicable to any BDFRG without the need for prior knowledge of its parameters or impractical off-line testing procedures often prone to errors. The excellent maximum power point tracking potential and disturbance rejection properties of the controller in the base speed region have been validated by realistic simulation studies using MW rated BDFRG wind turbine design data.
