ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:
The aim of this study was to determine the total phenolic content (TPC), total anthocyanin content (TAC), and in vitro antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP, CUPRAC, and β-carotene/linoleic acid bleaching assay) of a methanolic extract obtained from fresh A. melanocarpa fruits collected in Smederevo, Serbia. The results showed that the fruits contained high levels of TPC (812.79 mg GAE 100 g-1 fw) and TAC (206.03 mg C3G 100 g-1 fw), with pronounced antioxidant activity in all applied assays. These findings highlight the potential of A. melanocarpa fruits from this region as a valuable functional food with significant health-promoting properties.
