SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
In the summers of 2000 and 2007, two fires occurred on Vidlič Mt in southeastern Serbia, burning down over 2,500 ha of oak forests, hornbeam thickets, thermophilic meadows, rocky areas, and beech forests. The fires significantly affected the change in the floristic composition and structure of the mentioned types of vegetation, communities and species habitats on Vidlič Mt. After 2007, the impact of the fires on the flora was examined, the first, second, and third year after fire, as well as the eighth, ninth and tenth years after the fire on areas that could be confidently stated to represent burned areas after the fire that occurred in 2000. The research covered the period 2002-2012. On the unburned areas of Vidlič Mt, 521 taxa were recorded, which represents 41.19% of the total flora. On the burned areas, 521 taxa were found in the first year after the fire, 470 taxa in the second year, and 466 taxa in the third year. On the burned areas eighth, ninth and tenth years after the fire only 44 plant taxa were recorded, and the reason for this number of recorded taxa is the small area of the fire after the fire that occurred in 2000, since the fires from 2000 and 2007 mostly overlapped. The hemicryptophytictherophytic character of the flora in the studied area was recorded. About the flora of fire areas, especially in the first year after the fire, there is an increase in the number of therophytes and a decrease in geophytes. The number of heliophilous and thermophilic species increases compared to unburned areas.
